Sie waren Luxusgüter und Statussymbole zugleich, boten Schutz vor Kälte und Zugluft, schufen Behaglichkeit und verliehen den Innenräumen Farbe und repräsentativen Glanz. Die meisterhaft gestalteten Wandbehänge, Vorhänge, Polster und Decken, die in der neuen Sonderausstellung der Abegg-Stiftung zu sehen sind, geben einen lebendigen Einblick in die damalige Wohnkultur.
