Historic Mountain Ride on Locomotive 16 to Rigi Kulm

Take a journey back in time to 1871, when Europe’s first mountain railway opened, running from Vitznau or Goldau up to the Rigi.

The steam-powered rides bring this pioneering achievement in railway history back to life. The trains feature lovingly and expertly restored locomotives and cars from the early years.
