Intro

The upcoming exhibition at La Passerelle brings together works by Helena Ťapajnová and Bruna Olivet-Ara, exploring the theme of memory.

Designed in close collaboration with the artists, who are members of Verarte, the project brings their artistic approaches into dialogue with one another. Ťapajnová and Olivet-Ara explore the flow of memories and translate it through the forms, colours and materiality of glass.

Helena Ťapajnová (born in 1991 in Slovakia) is an artist and designer living and working in Basel. After completing a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in glass design at Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín (Czech Republic), she obtained a Master’s degree in integrative design at the Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Basel. Ťapajnová has exhibited in Switzerland, Spain, France, Belgium and the Czech Republic. She has also participated in collaborative and educational projects, notably at the HGK Basel and ETH Zurich. She is a co-founder of ASAP Studio in Basel.

Bruna Olivet-Ara is a Swiss glass artist and mosaicist of Italian origin. She lives and works in Geneva, where she has set up her studio, Araverre. A winner of several competitions, she has completed numerous public and private projects, including stained-glass windows, mosaics and monumental installations. She is also active in the field of art restoration. Her artistic practice is punctuated by exhibitions in Switzerland and abroad.
