Guided tour: time travel through 2000 years of city history
Overview
Intro
From the luxurious bathing ceremonies in Roman times, to the disarmament of the town after the Second Villmerger War, to the here and now - on this walking tour you will learn about the living history of the town of Baden.
The journey through time begins with the Romans, who settled at the bend of the Limmat. Even then, they gave the town a reputation that reached far and wide. The next stage of the journey leads through the Middle Ages, when Baden was granted town charter and became the secret capital of the Swiss Confederation.
Finally, in front of historic walls, fascinating anecdotes are told from the time when the city established its tradition as a congress venue with the Tagsatzungen, which is still valid today.
Highlights: Visit to the Tagsatzungssaal, the city church and the charming, picturesque alleys in the old town.
