Saanenmöser-Schönried-Loipe
Overview
Intro
First follow the route taken by the famous GoldenPass line and then you go along the stream: This route between Saanenmöser and the sunny mountain terrace of Schönried is picture-postcard beautiful in a typically Swiss way. It crosses the Moos plateau and winds its way through delightful wooded areas.
Description
The area between the chalet village of Saanenmöser and Schönried gets plenty of sunshine and affords a beautiful panoramic view of the mountains around Gstaad, Saanen and Rougement. Its central location makes it an excellent training area.
The first half of this route runs next to the railway line used by the GoldenPass panoramic line. This Montreux-Oberland-Bahn rail connection with its famous panoramic trains runs across Switzerland from Lake Lucerne and to the vineyards on Lake Geneva. Your way back to Saanenmöser takes you along the Chouflisbächli steam, past idyllic wooded areas and over the Moos plateau. The terrain here is varied and wide with gentle upward slopes and also a few downhill runs. You are sure to admire the typically original chalet-style farmhouses along the way.
You can access this cross-country trail in Saanenmöser, the pass between Saanenland and Simmental, and also in Schönried, the Gstaad region’s sunny mountain terrace.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
