Sellamatt–Zinggen Trail
Overview
Intro
Discovering quietly the mystical natural landscape on Alp Sellamatt – this trail makes it possible. In the lap of the Churfirsten you can enjoy the wonderful view up to the seven summits and over to Alpstein.
Description
The Sellamatt-Zinggen trail leads in a huge circular trail over Alp Sellamatt, a high plateau, which is in front of the Churfirsten halfway between valley and summit. Numerous caves, in which once the legendary Wildmannli hid, streak the rough karst landscape. Under the winterly snow cover the Alpine meadows present from their soft sides lined with spruces. Quietness and untouched nature characterise the landscape.
In uphill direction the characteristic seven summits of the Churfirsten mountain range can be looked at. On the way back Alpstein with Säntis and the impressive Schafberg at Wildhaus is presenting behind the Alpine landscape.
With the gondola railway from Alt St. Johann the starting point at Alp Sellamatt can be reached. The trail ends at the cosy Zinggenpub.
