Tresa Bike
Overview
Intro
Explore the nature, history and culture of Malcantone on the Tresa Bike trail. The route leads you through the region's typical hill country.
Description
After starting by Lake Lugano in Ponte Tresa, ride uphill on a dirt road through the woods. The route continues uphill and downhill through picturesque villages. Outside the town centres you'll see lots of modern architecture, but in the heart of the villages you'll feel like you’ve taken a step back in time.
The Museo del Malcantone in Curio presents fascinating facts about the region's history.
Between Beride and Castelrotto you'll follow part of the «Traces of Man» themed hiking trail, where buildings and relics provide an insight into how people used to live in this region.
The Tresa river, which forms the border with Italy, leads back to Ponte Tresa. Its banks provide a valuable habitat for plants and animals. At the end of the tour, Lake Lugano in Ponte Tresa is a wonderful place to relax.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
