Plate Horn and Hörnlistein Traverse

Lonely mountain tour in Arosa. From the Weisshorn summit to the Hörnlihütte, we follow the incredible ridge. Suitable for everyone who wants to experience something, as well as for families. We meet at the Weisshornbahn valley station and then take the cable car together to the summit, from where we will hike on foot via the Carmennapass to the start of our crossing. Here, we will face the first rocky section of our tour, which we will conquer with easy climbing, using the iron steps and hooks for assistance. The difficulties are mild and can be managed by anyone who is not afraid of heights. During the ascent to the Plattenhorn, there are already some great opportunities for a cool snapshot! At the summit, we will, of course, take a short break to enjoy the views, the summit, and the sunshine. From the summit, we will follow the beautiful ridge, with Arosa on the left and the breathtaking drop into the Urdental and to the Urdensee on the right. With a bit of luck, we might encounter a few chamois or ibexes. At the end of the ridge, we will reach our next destination: the Hörnlistein. We will ascend this again with easy climbing, using the iron steps and hooks. A final steep iron ladder, and we have reached the summit! At the top, we will sign the summit book and already see our last destination, the Hörnlihütte. From the summit, we will follow the ridge towards Hörnli and begin our descent; there is the option to descend independently with easy climbing or we can opt for the simpler and faster option and let ourselves be lowered by the mountain guide. Once down, we will stow our gear and during the further ridge walk to the nearby Hörnlihütte, we will already be thinking about the well-deserved aperitif.
