Intro

With EMPREINDRE, four artists and a scientist look at nature, its landscapes and vegetation. They bear witness and trace an itinerary.

In 2022, Claire Betti visited the town of Leuk for the first time, with its castle, its spiral staircase and the central void where the visitor's gaze plunges, its glass dome and its circular panorama of the mountains, the Bois de Finges below and the wild bed of the Rhône.

This visit was the inspiration for EMPREINDRE, a project she curated.

Transcribing the gaze into plant abstractions, landscape intuitions and sensitive memories. A poetic attempt to question, to establish a perception between the visible and the invisible. To reveal the adventure of life in all its diversity and fragile balance. To tirelessly question the immense battlefield of the living and try to metamorphose it. Taking part is the leitmotiv of this work.

Four artists and a scientist trace the itinerary of their work: imprinting, capturing, suggesting, punctuating, sublimating, embodying and linking.
