Intro

In the middle of the high mountains of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by ice and snow, sits the new Mutthornhütte SAC, the first self-sufficient hut of the SAC. It lies at the western foot of the Mutthorn between Kandersteg and Stechelberg, between Kiental and Lötschental. The modern mountain hut can only be reached via the glacier.

Description

Enjoy the authentic alpine experience at the Mutthornhütte SAC. Spend a few hours far away from everyday life and hustle and bustle, in the unique glacier landscape with the breathtaking view over the Kanderfirn to the majestic south faces of the Blümlisalpkette and the Balmhorn. After an impressive glacier hike, regional specialities, homemade delicacies and warm hospitality await you. You can stay in cosy rooms with two to ten beds. Around the hut there are various offers and tours to spend time actively or to enjoy cosy hours in the sun or in the light-flooded guest room.
