Eleven years after their first album, cobbled together on GarageBand, Bass Drum of Death is returning to its original formula. Their sixth album has a title that leaves no room for doubt: SIX. No frills, no fuss—just the raw sound that put them on the map.
This time, John Barrett isn’t playing solo in his corner anymore. The full trio—Jim Barrett on guitar, Ian Kirkpatrick on drums—locked themselves away in their Nashville home studio to flesh out the tracks, followed by ten days of winter finishing touches at Battle Tapes Studio under the guidance of Jeremy Ferguson (Cage the Elephant, White Reaper).
The result? A raw and effective burst of energy that draws inspiration from the Stooges and ZZ Top, without ever sounding like a mere throwback. The music press is spot on: with cutting riffs and a pounding rhythm section, SIX stands out as one of the most authentic garage-rock albums of the year.
Released via Cobraside Records, the album launched the band on the road on both sides of the Atlantic. On stage, the formula hasn’t changed since their debut in 2008: no safety net, no cutting corners. At the Usine à Gaz, you’ll get three guys, amps cranked to the max, and a set long enough to remind you why garage rock has never needed to be complicated to pack a punch.
Automobile Club, a Geneva-based power trio formed in 2024, runs on irony and distortion. Hailing from the bands The Animen, Kuma, and Promethee, they deliver
Debut album *Revolt Means Love* (February 2026), twelve tracks that tear into the absurdities of the modern world, blending punk’s urgency with grunge’s depth.
Their rallying cry: “We want life, beauty, truth, and dignity.” At L’Usine à Gaz, rebellion becomes an act of love.
