Raclette Cooking Class
Overview
Intro
The popular Valais raclette is a must-have at any event. In this class, we'll learn how to properly prepare raclette, a traditional Valais cultural treasure.
Valais raclette has a long tradition. Half a wheel of cheese is secured in a special oven, browned, scraped off in thin slices, and served with potatoes, cornichons, and onions.
No celebration is complete without this simple dish. The choice of cheese and the exact preparation method are the subject of many discussions.
Daniel Grichting, Vice President of the Grengiols Alpine Dairy, explains what matters most and helps us with our own attempts at scraping the cheese. The course is aimed at anyone who wants to make the transition from simply enjoying the dish to preparing it themselves, as well as experienced preparers who want to learn more about the cultural heritage behind it. | Grengiols Alpine Dairy, Dorfstrasse 19, 3993 Grengiols
