On an over 1500-meter area in the Lindwurm Museum, at the heart of Stein am Rhein’s Old Town, visitors experience close-up views of how respected families lived and made a living way back in 1850.

The new Thurgauer Fabelweg Trail above the western bank of Lake Constance offers hiking fun for the whole family. With its superb views, the alpine trail from Steckborn to Ermatingen via Oberfruthwilen combines the best enjoyment of the natural surroundings with superb hiking in a fairytale setting over an easy 11 kilometres.

The Apple Trail and a walking route through the village attest the longstanding importance of fruit-growing in Altnau's agriculture. 24 information panels with puzzles, jokes and questions about apple varieties impart valuable knowledge about the apple-growing region and the rosy-skinned fruit itself. Visitors will also meet Fredi, Lisi and Emma – three appealing apple mascots.

Hohenklingen Castle has been towering above the charming town of Stein am Rhein since the year 1200. The renovated castle attracts visitors interested in history as well as connoisseurs.

The High Rhine between Schaffhausen and Stein am Rhein offer one of the most delightful river cruises while the lower lake is rightly considered the jewel of Lake Constance.

The Swiss juicing and fermentation museum (Schweizer Mosterei- und Brennereimuseum) is found on Lake Constance in the canton of Thurgau, which is famous for its apples. The museum, spread over more than 1,000 square metres, portrays the journey from the orchard all the way to the bottle, providing an insight into a fruity past.

Perched high above Lake Constance and nestled in large parklands, this elegantly furnished castle was once the residence of the last emperor of France. In what is now the Napoleonic Museum, the original furnishings have been preserved, and the palace gardens have recently been restored.
