This route takes you upstream towards a broad horizon. Beyond Stein am Rhine, the river becomes Untersee, the most idyllic corner of the Lake Constance.
Description
Vineyards march gently up the slopes and Germany’s southernmost tip reclines in the sunshine across the way. Steckborn impresses with its well-preserved Old Town, while the serene village of Berlingen affords the most striking view of the lake locals nickname the “Swabian Sea”. In Mannenbach, your gaze is drawn to a hillside crowned by the most beautiful castle on the Lake Constance: Arenenberg. Once the residence of Emperor Napoleon III, the castle and its park still enchant visitors today.
