At 2,348 meters above sea level, the Brienzer Rothorn is the highest mountain in the canton of Lucerne and towers majestically over the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch.
You can reach the summit in comfort with the modern cable car from Sörenberg. Once at the top, a spectacular 360° panoramic view of no fewer than 693 mountain peaks and the turquoise-blue Lake Brienz awaits you - an unforgettable panoramic experience!
For hiking enthusiasts, the Brienzer Rothorn also offers a variety of routes - from leisurely to challenging - that always inspire with magnificent views and alpine diversity. Tip: From July to the end of September, the cable car takes you up to 2,350 m above sea level early every Sunday morning in time for sunrise, followed by a leisurely breakfast in the summit restaurant.
The “Top of Biosphere” visitor attraction offers a unique experience that focuses on the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch. It combines the impressive nature of the highest point of the biosphere with the themes of sustainability and the future. The centerpiece is the Biosphere Forum, which offers exciting insights into the construction work on the new aerial cableway.
Just below the Brienzer Rothorn lies the Eisee lake at 1900 m above sea level - a true paradise for nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet. The lake and the mountain hut are easily accessible by chair lift or via numerous hiking trails. The Eisee, glistening in all colors, is a paradise for fishing and nature enthusiasts.
