Intro

The dream of creating a navigable waterway between the Mediterranean Sea and the North Sea almost came true here.

The Canal d’Entreroches planned between Yverdon-les-Bains and Cossonay was to connect the rivers Thielle and Venoge, and thereby the Rhine and Lake Geneva. Where boats glided for a short time 300 years ago, today you can walk through this wild landscape, past local treasures such as the Roman mosaics in Orbe, the castle of La Sarraz and a pretty hamlet with the poetic name “Au Milieu du Monde” (In the Middle of the World).
