Winterthur, the sixth largest city in Switzerland, is one of the country’s most bicycle-friendly cities and a founding member of "Cities for Cyclists".
The Winterthur street scene is dominated by bikes, bike trailers and recumbent bikes. Located away from the traffic, the safe, well-signposted cycle network is 175 km long and enables cyclists from any part of the city to reach the city centre, the local attractions and the hotels in no more than 15 minutes.
There are several bicycle hire outlets in the city.
