In autumn 2025, La Cetra's office will move from the center of Basel to the "Tonraum" on the banks of the meadow opposite Klybeck. Five minutes' walk away from this modern mix of industry, traffic, working-class suburbia and music, which stimulates creative processes, is a pretty green oasis with the pretty village church of Kleinhüningen, the only baroque church in Basel with its characteristic onion dome!
And indeed, this original location has already ignited the creative spark in us, the inspiration for a new baroque project: "La Cetra da Camera". Four times a year, in the fall, winter, spring and summer, various groups from La Cetra perform chamber music in the small church, a genre that is rarely performed in an intimate setting. The concerts take place on a Saturday at 5.00 pm, followed by a cozy aperitif.
In April, however, we travel to Sanssouci and the time of Frederick the Great, where the flattering, warm sound of the wooden transverse flute is of course at the center of the action. Compositions by C.P.E. Bach, Joachim Quantz, Johann Gottlieb Janitsch and Fortunato Riedel will be played under the title Quadri de Sanssouci, followed by a cozy aperitif.
