In Le Noirmont, the longstanding tradition and popular craft of cheese making has been lovingly restored. Cheese has been produced and sold in the Fromagerie des Franches-Montagnes since 1910. Today the cheese dairy can be visited by solo travellers, families or groups.
The Fromagerie des Franches-Montagnes, famous for its culinary specialties, is located in the region of the same name in the Canton of Jura. The Franches-Montagnes, or Freiberge, form a high plateau of pristine landscapes at an altitude of 1000 metres and are a popular destination for nature enthusiasts in particular. And, of course, cheese-lovers will also be in their element in Le Noirmont. The Fromagerie des Franches-Montagnes offers self-guided tours for individuals or families through the show dairy. The different types of cheese can be sampled on site. Visitors can then buy their favourite cheese in the shop and enjoy it over a picnic next to the play area.
