Intro

Fondation Gianadda in Martigny is an internationally renowned cultural foundation with multi-faceted aspects. The museum offerings range from archaeological exhibits, a vintage car and sculpture park to art collections and concerts.

In the year 1976 the engineer, artist and art patron Léonard Gianadda decided to build a house in Martigny. But the construction work for the house led to the unearthing of the ruins of Switzerland's oldest Gallo-Roman temple. Consequently, Gianadda built a cultural center instead of a house and established the Gianadda Foundation in memory of his brother Pierre, who had died shortly before.

The cultural centre on the Grand Tour of Switzerland houses the finds dating back to the Gallo-Roman era, 50 oldtimers and classic cars that were built between 1897 and 1939, changing, world-famous art exhibitions and concerts. An extensive collection of sculptures by renowned 20th century artists can be viewed in the large park.
