Figure skating, ice hockey or curling: the outdoor ice rink at Château-d’Oex opens in mid-October and is a great place to spend countless hours ice skating – with the added bonus of breathtaking views of the surrounding mountain chain.
A great alternative to skiing, the outdoor ice rink at Château-d’Oex welcomes you every day, from autumn onwards, to skate in a magnificent setting surrounded by mountain ranges. Besides the simple pleasure of gliding across the ice, a wide choice of activities awaits you. Those who enjoy team sports can practise hockey every day on one third of the ice rink surface, while figure skating enthusiasts can take part in classes to perfect their technique. Another activity to discover is curling, which has been played in Pays-d’Enhaut for almost a century. Upon request, the local club can organise taster sessions to discover the intricacies of the game, which was invented in 16th century Scotland and was formerly reserved for members of the aristocracy. Ice skates can be hired on site.
