St. Galler Panoramaweg
Overview
Intro
On this tour you can enjoy a splendid panorama of St Gallen, with its abbey that was registered as a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1983. In summer, the Art Nouveau Drei Weieren swimming baths entice bathers to take a cool dip.
Description
This route begins at the station Haggen and passes along meadows and woods. The path continues through various quarters high above the town St. Gallen. With the wide variety of locations, you are constantly tempted to take a look at the town from a new angle.
The particular highlight of this route is the path along the pool landscape beneath the Freudenberg, with the Art Nouveau swimming baths directly above the historical city centre of St. Gallen. The Drei Weieren entice bathers to take a cool dip in summer and in winter they are a popular meeting point for ice-skating fans. After the last of the three pools, the route continues along the woodland edge further up the Freudenberg. The last section of the trail leads through a forest to the Black Bear, further along the Wenigerweier and to St. Georgen.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
