On this leisurely round trip, you will discover the fascinating peninsula near Lugano with its idyllic natural beauty and impressive cultural amenities. In addition, you will get to know the fruits of the autumn season as well as the local products of the region – during a tasting at “Giardino di Bacco” after the bike tour, for example.
Description
The bike tour takes you through the idyllic countryside around Monte Arbostora, where the fruits of the autumn season flourish, and to characteristic Ticino villages. At Torello, cyclists can’t help but be fascinated by the surroundings, which include the church and monastery, the old farmstead and the meadows on all sides. Further on, the trail leads from the Church of Madonna d’Ongero with the Via Crucis (Way of the Cross) to Alpe Vicania with its pastures and welcoming restaurant (open according to the season) and just before Carona to the Parco botanico San Grato (botanical gardens), which invites you to stay a while with its variety of plants, themed trails and a restaurant.
A visit to the typical village centre and the Chiesa Parrocchiale di San Giorgio (parish church) in Carona is not to be missed. Also worth a mention is the idyllic open-air swimming pool. At various points along the route, you’ll be able to enjoy a beautiful view of Lake Lugano and the surrounding mountains.
Before you return to Paradiso, it is worth making a detour to Pazzallo and the panoramic “Giardino di Bacco”. This offers an opportunity to relax after the impressive experiences of the bike tour, learn new things and sample delicious local products. You’ll find more information about the guided tour here.
This trail almost entirely follows unpaved tracks, making its way from one lookout point to the next through a number of forests. The difference in altitude is minimal, and peace and quiet are guaranteed, making this tour suitable for all cyclists.
