Overview

In exchange for board and lodging, volunteers can play an active role in helping out a Swiss mountain farm family. While helping out, they will get to know the mountains from an entirely different perspective. The mountain work lasts at least five days, but volunteers can also work on a farm for longer than this. The activities on the farm are particularly diverse: from making hay to milking, making cheese and babysitting. Volunteers are being sought between the ages of 18 and 70. They will stay and eat on the farm for free as payment for their work. The assignments are organised and arranged by the not-for-profit organisation Caritas.

On bergeinsatz.ch you will find an overview of all the companies that are in need of voluntary support. Each company is portrayed individually with all available dates and places. You can book the desired date for the assignment (min. one week) directly online for this company.

Attention: Basic knowledge of the language of the region (German or French) is required in order to be able to communicate with the farm family. Due to legal regulations, only Swiss nationals or EU/EFTA citizens can volunteer in Switzerland.
