Overview

Intro

Learn how to behave and move on glaciers, first aid techniques for crevasse rescues including rope and knot techniques, and a guided ski & splitboard tour led by federally certified mountain guide Bruno Bösch over three days.

For a high-altitude mountaineering course, you don't need snow-covered glaciers or high mountains, but rather plenty of open terrain, transitions, and rugged mountain landscapes. You can find all of this around Säntis. In this course, Bruno Bösch, a federally certified mountain guide, will teach you how to behave and move on glaciers, first aid techniques for crevasse rescue including rope and knot techniques, and everything else that goes into planning a successful high-altitude tour.

During the guided ski and splitboard tour, you will apply what you have learned in a realistic setting.

At the end of the course, you can obtain the SWISS MOUNTAIN TRAINING Winter 2 certificate from the Swiss Mountain Guide Association for an additional fee of 25 CHF. A prerequisite for obtaining the SMT Winter 2 certificate is the SMT Winter 1 certificate.
