Chesa Marchetta is a charming 13-room hotel and restaurant in Sils Maria, known for its cultural heritage and the landscapes of the Upper Engadin. Set in an historic Engadin house, it blends the character of the region with carefully chosen antiques and an extensive collection of art. The restaurant serves seasonal, local cuisine with Northern Italian influences. Behind the house, a quiet garden beside the river offers a peaceful setting for lunch or an aperitif. In summer, explore the Val Fex on foot or take a swim in nearby Lake Sils. In winter, Corvatsch and St. Moritz offer plenty of skiing. Chesa Marchetta is a warm and welcoming 13-bedroom hotel and 50-cover restaurant in Sils Maria, the cultural centre of the Engadin.
Each of the 13 bedrooms are furnished with traditional Engadin furniture and artwork by local artists and artisans that reflect the history of the hotel and the surrounding area. From the top floor family suite to the classic, superior and deluxe rooms, each room has its own story to tell.
The restaurant is open daily for dinner and offers a menu that celebrates the marriage of Italian and Swiss cultures. It takes its inspiration from Maria and Christina Godly’s famous and traditional use of seasonal ingredients. A light lunch is available upstairs in the bar and outside in the garden and the cocktail bar is open for drinks every day.
It is located within easy reach of the famous Val Fex valley for walking and Lake Sils for swimming in the summer months and St Moritz and Corvatsch for winter skiing. With Nietzsche’s Haus opposite, cultural walks and many museums and galleries close by there are myriad cultural activities all year round.

Chesa Marchetta is set in a traditional Engadin farmhouse made up of four interconnected buildings dating back to the 16th century. The careful restoration preserved original stonework and carpentry, with local and reclaimed timber used throughout the property. Luis Laplace designed the interiors with a focus on local materials, furniture and craftsmanship. Antiques, Swiss art and details inspired by regional folklore give each of the 13 rooms its own character. The restaurant’s cuisine combines seasonal local ingredients with Northern Italian traditions. From its historic architecture and interiors to its art, craftsmanship and cuisine, Chesa Marchetta remains closely connected to the heritage and culture of the region.
