Intro
Filisur is a small, attractive mountain resort in the heart of Graubünden. As part of the Bergün Filisur vacation region, the village of 500 inhabitants is an ideal starting point for train rides on the UNESCO World Heritage route of the Rhaetian Railway.
Description
Filisur is the westernmost Engadine village built along a single street. It has been entered into the national inventory of cultural treasures and is considered one of the best-preserved Engadine one-street villages. Here traditions and customs are alive and well. Winter
The llamas of the organic farm La Sorts in Filisur are available for romantic hikes through the wilderness by day or night. Filisur also has 14 kilometers of cross-country tracks. A 3-km nighttime cross-country loop completes the attractive Nordic skiing offers. In Filisur, ice-skating fans can enjoy a natural ice rink, which is illuminated at night.
Summer
Railway enthusiasts get their money’s worth in the Bergün Filisur vacation region. Filisur is the starting point of the 3rd stage of the railway adventure route. Not only railway enthusiasts experience something special in Filisur: From 1952 to 1954 the first Heidi film was shot on the Filisur Alp Falein – an excursion that is well worthwhile, even today. Whether one wants a challenging hike or a short walk, Filisur is also a true paradise for walkers.
