The Appenzell Railways (AB) connects the most important places in the Appenzell region with its route network. Output or Destinations are St. Gallen, Altstätten Stadt, Herisau, Gossau (SG) and Wasserauen.

A stay in Appenzell is a must to admire the typical Appenzell houses in the legendary main street. If you have a little more time, we recommend a trip to the Säntis (2,502 m above sea level) or to one of the other beautiful mountains in the Alpstein. Interesting for railway fans are the cogwheel lines. On the "adventure tour" you can enjoy two nostalgic cogwheel railways, combined with the Witzweg and a leisurely boat ride.
