Intro
Château de Villa in Sierre, an old patrician residence dating back to the 17th century, houses a wine shop and a speciality restaurant. Not just a range of rustic local dishes, but also over 650 wines from the various Valais vines are waiting to be discovered.
The most famous Valais specialities can be sampled in the Château de Villa restaurant, especially cheese dishes such as raclette with five different types of cheese. You can also choose from flavoursome dried meats, brisolée (roasted chestnuts) and a variety of traditional seasonal dishes.
The wine list has something to suit every taste. Wines from 110 different winemakers and 640 selected crus are stored in a unique cellar that showcases the diversity of Valais vines. So it’s no wonder the wine bar is a popular place for wine buffs to meet. A treat for the taste buds and for the soul.
Winemaking is an age-old tradition in Valais. Wine has always played a leading role in social history in Valais as an everyday drink, festive toast or medicinal remedy.
