Intro
Dancing in the Rain, Despite Everything
A family birthday. A cake to bake. Guests are arriving. And the kitchen, against all expectations, becomes the beating heart of the evening. While the candles wait to be blown out in the next room, conversations unfold in a doorway, between comings and goings, between moments of silence. People confide in one another, hesitate, skirt around certain topics, and sometimes try to say what usually gets stuck somewhere between the heart and the throat. Inspired by real interviews, *Tarte à la crème* delicately explores everything that plays out in the unsaid. Those words we keep to ourselves, those conversations we put off until later, those truths we don’t always dare to share with the people we love most. A sensitive docudrama—funny at times, often touching—that poses a universal question: Why is it sometimes so hard to really talk to one another?
