Engelberg Monastery cordially invites all guests interested in immersing themselves in a contemplative atmosphere to take part in the public guided tour. The library is not part of the public tour. A visit to the newly designed exhibition room is also integrated into the journey through the history of the monastery. Original books from the inventory of the Engelberg scriptorium are shown here. The works were created at the writing school founded by Abbot Frowin in the 12th century.
Brothers of the community will impart interesting facts about the over 900-year history and the Benedictine daily routine. The tour takes place over 3 floors. There is no lift. Unfortunately, the tour is only possible with restrictions for people in wheelchairs or who are not good on their feet.
