Limited number of places - register in good time

"Stitching from the thought power of women is our way of writing our lives and our story; we weave our thoughts to connect with the energy of divine creation, remembering the sacred connection of masculine and feminine energy in creation. In this way, each stitch is a thought that leads us to a deep reflection on our actions. We thus use stitching as a spiritual exercise to heal and connect with our self.

In the mochila course, I share with you the ancient Muisca knowledge about the spiritual sewing of mochilas and talk about their profound symbolism, meaning and the respectful and appropriate use of the mochila in everyday life."

Yuli Chiguasuque

Mochilas of the indigenous peoples of northern Colombia are not meant to be fancy accessories - they embody an ancient cultural asset, are rich in symbolism and imbued with deep wisdom.

For the indigenous peoples of northern Colombia, mochilas are much more than objects of daily use: as materialized thoughts of the indigenous artist, the bags are carriers of stories, knowledge and wisdom about the natural order.

In its entirety, each mochila contains a deep, individual meaning: the shape as a symbol of the womb, the materials of ficus, cotton or wool are a connection to nature, the language of colors (choice of colors, their composition and the interwoven patterns. They are deliberately chosen before the indigenous women start sewing a mochila and reflect the relationship between man, nature and the spiritual world.

In our course, we combine mindful handwork with inner alignment. Every stitch becomes a conscious action, every thread carries your intention. You will not only learn the basic techniques for making a mochila, but also how to charge your creative work with energy, symbolism and personal meaning.

Immerse yourself in the meditative and powerful world of energetic sewing and create your own mochila - a traditional bag with deep-rooted meaning in indigenous cultures of South America.

Learn more about the wisdom that is woven into the mochilas and learn how to sew a Kogi and/or Muisca mochila yourself at our workshop. For advanced students, we offer the opportunity to learn the art of weaving a carrying strap. Those interested have the opportunity to make threads by hand from ficus fibers - just as the Kogi women do
