Taking the publication of Vrai travail in January 2026 as its starting point, this event explores the importance of community work, solidarity networks created by and for sex workers, and specialised support organisations. Bringing together perspectives from practice, activism and research, the book highlights the key role these support structures play in the working and living conditions of sex workers.
What role do advisory services, self-organisation and mutual support within sex worker communities and networks play? What forms of collaboration are needed to strengthen sex workers’ rights and improve their working conditions?
Members of sex worker communities and experts will discuss what sex workers need to carry out their work safely and autonomously, and the broader societal changes required to overcome the persistent stigma surrounding sex work.
