Intro

An experience that brings back memories of your youth: discover the Frienisberg region off the beaten track on a moped tour of the Seeland and enjoy breathtaking views of the Swiss Alps and the Three-Lakes Region.

Enjoy the breeze in your hair, and a free and easy feeling. This works particularly well on a nostalgic moped tour through the Seeland region.
The five-hour round trip starts and ends in Herrenschwanden near Bern. From here, the “roadbook” will act as your guide on the quieter, less well-travelled roads. These lead across wide fields and through shady forests and reveal the beauty of the region from a perspective that is not as widely known about.

After a good hour, the first highlight of the tour is reached – the Chutzenturm. At 45 metres in height and made entirely of regional wood, the tower proudly overlooks the region and offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Switzerland. It is the ideal place to pause and enjoy a picnic. Numerous farms along the route offer homemade delicacies for a spontaneous purchase in the farm shop.

Once fortified, continue on to Aarberg. The small medieval town is a real insider’s tip and is also known as the pearl of the Seeland. Around the cosy town square you can find small specialty stores and a wide range of culinary delights. A real gem is the historic wooden bridge dating back to the year 1557, which is part of the route and is crossed by moped before the route continues along the Aare back upstream towards the starting point.

Package includes:

  • Moped
  • Helmet
  • Rain poncho
  • Roadbook
  • Fuel
The moped tour is carbon neutral. The kilometres travelled are offset via the myclimate association.

How to get there: By public transport (bus) to “Herrenschwanden, Dorf”. Free parking is also available.
