Intro

The typical Walser Alps lie on the west side of the Vals mountain village; to where the gondola cableway climbs to 1817-meter altitude. The Gadastatt lies at the foot of the Dachberg mountain.

Hikers delight in panoramic tours over alpine pastures from the mountain station - and on via the picturesque Frunt Chapel to the Zerfreila reservoir - accompanied by views of the mighty 2821m Zerfreilahorn all the way. This mountain is fondly known as Graubünden’s version of the Matterhorn! A postbus connects to and from the Zervreila reservoir.

Additional paths lead to the Hängelahütte, and a mountain trail to the Faltschonhorn (3022m). Mountain restaurants with local cuisine cater for healthy appetites in Gadastatt, Zervreila and on the Hängelahütte.
