The Aare is the longest river lying entirely within Switzerland. Between Biel and Solothurn, it offers perfect conditions for canoeists.
The stork colony at Altreu and the extensive forests and pretty villages along the river bank make the stretch of the Aare below Biel the perfect playground for canoe fans. Without any great exertion, canoeists are carried to Solothurn, a Baroque city, blending French charm and Italian grandeur, that is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland.
