This 43-kilometer stretch leads from Herisau to Altstätten as you get to see more and more of the attractive Appenzellerland and Alpstein scenery.
Description
Over spectacular Sitter bridges guests make their way via the Gübsensee lake to Stein, in Apenzell country. Strewn little settlements and the atmospheric townscapes of Haslen and Schlatt accompany you on higher stretches overlooking the Alpstein as you make your way to Appenzell. From here, a wooded section then provides a traffic-free passage to the Rhine Valley, where vineyards and medieval Altstätten make for an attractive finish.
