Intro
A magnificent view of the Churfirsten mountain chain welcomes you to Flumser Kleinberg. Far away from the Flumserberg bustle on the opposite side of the mountain, the trail leads up through open forest clearings into the basin of Mädems. At the foot of Pfufisegg we go back to the other side and mostly downhill.
Description
The starting point is the top station of the gondola lift at Flumser Kleinberg. The original area is an insider tip for nature lovers: Compared to the winter sports resort of Flumserberg, the adjacent Kleinberg is familiar and clear. The scenery is ready to be filmed: The Alvier mountain chain and the majestic Churfirsten peaks appear on the horizon.
From Berghotel Schönhalden the trail leads leisurely uphill over snow-covered meadows and through light forests. Reaching the height of the wall at the water reservoir, one can look over Sarganserland. Once you have left the forest, the wide, open moorland and Alpine landscape of Fulriet/Mädems, which lies under a blanket of snow, opens up. In the background you can see the area of Pizol and Schwarze Hörner.
Below the eastern foothills of Guscha and Wisswand, the trail continues with a slight gradient. Once at the top, the Alp Mädems Hintersäss appears in the background. It belongs to a cooperation of more than 100 owners and is located at the foot of the striking Hochgamatsch. To the left: Pfufisegg; in safe conditions a detour to the vantage point (Alvier, Rheintal (Rhine Valley), Vorarlberg, Rätikon) is worthwhile. The described trail descends to the Alpine huts and turns there. On the other side you now walk to Alp Mädems Vorsäss and from there straight down towards Alp Schwarzenberg. A little above, the path branches off, crosses Röllbach and returns slightly uphill to the starting point.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
