Intro
Much appreciated given its starting point close to the postbus stop, the route is very varied and explores typical Jura landscapes. When the weather is clear, as the name suggests, you will have a glorious view over the Alps.
Description
The Col de la Vue des Alpes and its Tourism Office are the starting point for many winter activities. You can find information and the equipment you need for your hike there. The starting point for the Mont d’Amin route is less than one hundred metres from the Tourism Office.
Once you have coped with the first small climb - not forgetting to marvel at the magnificent view of the Alps to the South - you will be on the Mont d’Amin ridge. The Eiger is almost within touching distance and Mont Blanc just a little further on. When you reach the top, you will see some small huts used to shelter livestock during the summer pasturing season. The overhanging roofs make good sheltered picnic spots.
After a slight descent along a path, you will reach the Col de la Chaux d’Amin. From there, you can see Chasseral from an unusual angle. On the second section of the route, to the North, spot the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds and the Franches Montagnes. If you have good eyesight, you might even glimpse the Ballons d’Alsace. Following an enjoyable descent, you will finally re-join the valley bottom and the cross-country skiing trail. To return to your starting point, simply follow the markers in place.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
