Description

Start in Konstanz, historic city on the Bodensee, following the Schwabenweg path up the Seerücken hills, in the tranquillity of the Bommer ponds. Past the Ottenberg vineyards to Weinfelden and a refreshment in the early baroque Gasthaus zum Trauben.

You then cross the Thur, pedal over the Oppikon plateau, gentle valleys become ravines, you are in fir-cone country. Then you pass the Fischingen Benedictine Monastery. Steep wooded knolls in Tössberg country, grandiose views in Sternenberg. Looms have long ceased to clatter on the Töss.

Bordered by reeds and blossoming marshland, the Pfäffikersee in flat countryside, residential areas compete with farming, the Pfannenstiel still blocks open views of the Zürichsee, which soon is revealed in its entire length.
