Prättigauer Höhenweg

In der kleinen Streusiedlung St. Antönien ist aufgrund des alpinen Klimas, der Höhenlage und der Topografie kein wirtschaftlicher Ackerbau möglich. Daher hat insbesondere die Haltung von Ziegen und anderem Kleinvieh eine lange Tradition. Die Landwirtschaft ist nach wie vor der wichtigste Wirtschaftszweig im Tal, das von der Walserkultur geprägt ist.

Die Wanderung beginnt in den engen Gassen von St. Antönien bei der spätgotischen Kirche. Mit Blick auf die steilen, bewaldeten Hänge und zahlreichen Einzelhöfe beginnt der Aufstieg. Vorbei am Alpbachtobel und Vordersäss sieht man das Rätschenhorn und mit jedem weiteren Höhenmeter mehr von der Rätschenflue. Die Bäume werden spärlicher und die Wege steiniger. Dem Alpbach entlang wird über steile Weiden am Jägglisch Horn auf 2‘257 Metern Höhe der höchste Punkt der Wanderung erreicht. Hier hat man eine spektakuläre Aussicht auf das Rätikon und auf der anderen Seite auf die Weissfluh und das Pischahorn oberhalb von Klosters und Davos und die unzähligen Dreitausender dahinter.

Nun folgt der Abstieg am Südhang über Matten zum kleinen Weiler Zastia. Der schöne Wanderweg führt unterhalb des Bockhorns und des Geisshorns den Hang entlang. Vor der Mässplatta steigt der Weg wieder leicht an, an Lawinenverbauungen vorbei bis zu einem kurzen, leicht ausgesetzten Stück, welches mit Seilen gesichert ist. An der Mässplatta laden an guter Aussichtslage zwei Holzbänke zum Ausruhen ein.

Nun geht es unterhalb des Madrisahorns über Alpweiden weiter nach Osten. Bei der Überquerung des Gross Alpbachs lohnt sich ein Blick auf den Wasserfall. An der Madrisa-Bergstation, die etwas unterhalb vom Wanderweg liegt, lockt der Erlebnispark Madrisa Land mit spektakulären Abenteuern.

Mit herrlichem Blick auf Klosters und die umliegenden Berge geht es nun wieder aufwärts in Richtung Zügenhüttli. Bald erlaubt die Lage erste Blicke auf das Schlappintal und der Hang wird steiler. Geradeaus würde man auf einem alten Saumpfad zum Schlappiner Joch gelangen. Viele Handelsgüter wie Wein aus dem Veltlin und Vieh wurden über diesen Weg transportiert. Die Route biegt nach rechts ab durch einen alten Wald mit roten Riesenpilzen, saftig grünen Gräsern, Farnen und schönen Bächen. Schon wenig später wird Schlappin erreicht.

Vorbei am idyllischen Schlappinsee folgt der Abstieg durch das Tobel. Der schmale Pfad folgt dem Schlappinbach. Kurz vor Klosters Dorf zweigt der Weg nach links ab und führt noch einmal durch den Wald und über die Weide bis nach Klosters Platz. In Klosters, einem alpinen Ferienort im Chalet-Stil, endet die Wanderetappe. Dans le petit habitat dispersé de Sankt Antönien, en raison du climat alpin, de l’altitude et de la topographie, il n’est pas possible de pratiquer une agriculture rentable. La randonnée commence dans les ruelles étroites de Sankt Antönien, près de l’église de style gothique tardif. La montée commence avec une vue sur les versants escarpés et boisés et les nombreuses fermes isolées. En passant devant l’Alpbachtobel et le Vordersäss, on aperçoit le Rätschenhorn et à chaque mètre de dénivelé supplémentaire, la Rätschenflue se révèle davantage. Les arbres se font plus rares et les chemins plus pierreux. En longeant le cours d’eau de l’Alpbach et en traversant des pâturages escarpés, on atteint le point culminant de la randonnée: le Jägglisch Horn, à 2 257 mètres d’altitude. On y jouit d’une vue spectaculaire sur le Rätikon et, de l’autre côté, sur la Weissfluh et le Pischahorn surplombant Klosters et Davos, ainsi que sur les très nombreux trois mille situés en arrière-plan.

S’ensuit une descente sur le versant sud à travers des pâturages, jusqu’au petit hameau de Zastia. Le beau chemin de randonnée longe la pente en dessous du Bockhorn et du Geisshorn. Avant la Mässplatta, le chemin se remet à monter légèrement, passe devant des ouvrages paravalanches et arrive à un court tronçon légèrement exposé, sécurisé par des cordes. À la Mässplatta, deux bancs en bois invitent à se reposer tout en profitant de la vue.

Le chemin continue ensuite vers l’est, en dessous du Madrisahorn, à travers des alpages. En traversant Gross Alpbach, cela vaut la peine d’admirer la cascade. À la station supérieure de Madrisa, située légèrement en contrebas du chemin de randonnée, le parc d’attractions de Madrisa Land attire les visiteurs avec des aventures spectaculaires.

Le sentier remonte maintenant en direction de Zügenhüttli en offrant une vue magnifique sur Klosters et les montagnes environnantes. Bientôt, la situation permet de profiter des premières vues sur la vallée de Schlappintal et la pente devient plus forte. Si l’on continuait tout droit, on arriverait au Schlappiner Joch par un ancien sentier muletier. De nombreux biens marchands, tels que le vin de la Valteline et le bétail, étaient transportés par ce chemin. L’itinéraire tourne à droite à travers une vieille forêt jalonnée de champignons géants rouges, d’herbes verdoyantes, de fougères et de beaux ruisseaux. Peu après, on atteint déjà Schlappin.

En passant devant l’idyllique lac de Schlappin, on descend par le ravin. Le sentier étroit suit le ruisseau de Schlappin. Peu avant Klosters Dorf, le chemin bifurque à gauche et traverse encore une fois la forêt et les pâturages jusqu’à Klosters Platz. Cette étape de randonnée se termine à Klosters, une station de vacances dans le style chalet. Nel piccolo insediamento disperso di St. Antönien, l'agricoltura di tipo economico non è possibile a causa del clima alpino, dell'altitudine e della topografia. Pertanto, l'allevamento di capre e di altri piccoli animali ha una lunga tradizione. A valle invece, l'agricoltura rimane ancora il settore economico più importante influenzata dalla cultura Walser.

L'escursione inizia tra le strette vie di St. Antönien presso la chiesa tardo gotica. Con la vista sui ripidi pendii boscosi e sulle numerose fattorie isolate, inizia la salita. Passando per Alpbachtobel e Vordersäss, si può vedere il Rätschenhorn e con ogni metro di altitudine in più, la Rätschenflue è sempre più visibile. Gli alberi diventano più radi e i sentieri più sassosi. Costeggiando l'Alpbach, si arriva su ripide praterie fino al Jägglisch Horn a 2’257 metri di altitudine, il punto più alto dell'escursione. Qui si ha una vista mozzafiato da una parte sul Rätikon e dall'altra sulla Weissfluh e sul Pischahorn sopra Klosters e Davos e sui numerosi tremila alle loro spalle.

Segue la discesa sul versante meridionale attraverso Matten fino al piccolo villaggio di Zastia. Il bellissimo sentiero escursionistico corre lungo il pendio sotto il Bockhorn e il Geisshorn. Prima di Mässplatta, il sentiero sale di nuovo leggermente, oltrepassando i paravalanghe fino ad un breve tratto leggermente esposto ma assicurato con delle corde. A Mässplatta, due panchine di legno poste in buona posizione panoramica invitano a una pausa.

Si prosegue verso est, sotto il Madrisahorn e attraverso pascoli alpini. Attraversando il torrente Gross Alpbach, vale la pena dare un'occhiata alla cascata. Alla stazione a monte di Madrisa, che si trova un po' al di sotto del sentiero escursionistico, il parco avventura Madrisa Land invita a vivere esperienze spettacolari.

Con una magnifica vista su Klosters e le montagne circostanti, si risale in direzione della Zügenhüttli. Qui di intravedono i primi scorci sulla valle di Schlappintal e il pendio diventa più ripido. Continuando diritto una vecchia mulattiera conduce al passo Schlappiner Joch. Questo sentiero era il passaggio per il commercio di merci come il vino della Valtellina e il bestiame. Il percorso svolta poi a destra attraverso una vecchia foresta con funghi rossi giganti, prati verdeggianti, felci e bellissimi ruscelli. Poco dopo si raggiunge Schlappin.

Passando dall'idilliaco lago di Schlappinsee, si scende attraverso il Tobel. Lo stretto sentiero costeggia il torrente Schlappinbach. Poco prima di Klosters Dorf, il sentiero devia a sinistra e attraversa nuovamente la foresta e i pascoli fino a Klosters Platz. La tappa escursionistica finisce qui, a Klosters, una località turistica alpina in stile chalet. In the small scattered settlement of St. Antönien, profitable farming is impossible due to the alpine climate, altitude and topography. Therefore, keeping goats and other small livestock, in particular, has a long tradition. Agriculture is still the most important economic sector in the valley, characterised by the Walser culture.

The hike begins in the narrow streets of St. Antönien at the late-Gothic church. The ascent starts with views of the steep, wooded slopes and numerous individual farms. Past the Alpbachtobel and Vordersäss, you can see the Rätschenhorn and, with each additional metre of altitude, more of the Rätschenflue. The trees become sparser and the paths stonier. Continuing along the Alpbach and over steep pastures, you reach the hike's highest point at the Jägglisch Horn, 2,257 metres above sea level. Here you have spectacular views of the Rätikon and, on the other side, of the Weissfluh and the Pischahorn above Klosters and Davos and the countless three-thousand-metre peaks behind them.

Next comes the descent over meadows on the southern slope to the tiny hamlet of Zastia. The scenic hiking trail leads along the slope below the Bockhorn and the Geisshorn. Before Mässplatta, the trail climbs slightly again, past avalanche barriers to a short, somewhat exposed section secured with ropes. At Mässplatta, two wooden benches invite you to rest in scenic surroundings.

The route continues eastwards across alpine pastures below the Madrisahorn. When crossing the Gross Alpbach, a look at the waterfall is worthwhile. At the Madrisa mountain station, located slightly below the hiking trail, the Madrisa Land theme park beckons with spectacular adventures.

The trail continues uphill towards Zügenhüttli, with magnificent views of Klosters and the surrounding mountains. Soon the location provides a first look at the Schlappintal, and the slope steepens. Straight ahead, an old mule track would take you to the Schlappiner Joch. The path served as a major trade route where wine and cattle were transported. The route turns right through an old forest with red giant mushrooms, lush green grasses, ferns and beautiful streams. A short time later, you reach Schlappin.

Past idyllic Schlappinsee lake, the descent leads through the ravine. The narrow path follows the Schlappinbach stream. Shortly before Klosters Dorf, the trail branches off to the left and again leads through the forest and across the pasture to Klosters Platz. The hiking stage ends in Klosters, a chalet-style alpine holiday resort.
