This route leads from Gstaad to Saanen along the tranquil banks of the River Saane. An easy path that is notable for its impressive far-reaching views over this enchanting region.

Description

The route leads from Gstaad railway station along the bustling traffic-free promenade through the world-famous holiday resort. The chalets, so typical of the area, line the roads lending the small town a charm of its own. Soon after leaving the town's outskirts you reach the banks of the River Saane, where you are met by breathtaking views over the Saanenland region.

The Rivera Saane is a wild-water river bordered by lush vegetation and offering numerous peaceful places to take a rest. On the way you can enjoy captivating panoramic views. Here, surrounded by lush green fields and meadows, with a stunning mountain backdrop on the horizon, Mother Nature grants each and every wish.

This easy, level path reveals one of the most beautiful parts of the Bernese Oberland. A section leads through a shady forest before reaching a wooden bridge. Here you can watch the lively flow of the river to your heart's content. Now on Saanen municipal territory, you follow the idyllic river banks until you arrive in the centre of the village.
