St.-Margrethenberg-Loipe
Overview
Intro
Experience untouched nature in Tamina Valley. On the versatile trail with several loops and shortcuts every cross-country skier finds a suitable challenge.
Description
Cross-country skier, who want to be away from the crowd, find just the right trail in Tamina Valley: tranquillity, snow and generously prepared trails through the soft winter landscape.
The available trails go along the entire plateau and are very versatile. Flat, easy sections as well as difficult passages in hilly terrain await the cross-country skiers. Three loops with the names Davos Vorderberg, Möschriet Dörfli and Fürggli Hinterberg form together a large circular trail, which can of course be shortened, if desired. On the section from Dörfli to Fürggli the trail leads past the popular view point Pizalun. On the way but also at the very back of Fürggli two cosy mountain pubs invite to linger for a while.
By the way, St. Margrethenberg has nothing to do with St. Margrethen. The plateau is located 1,200 metres above sea level next to Pfäfers above Bad Ragaz. The name comes from the chapel St. Margaretha, which was built in the 13th century, and at which the trail is also passing by.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
