Intro
This interesting hike leads past unique and unspoilt scenery typical to the Jura region with its gorges, woods, meadows and rocky faces. Following far-reaching views seen from the Belchenflue and decent through woods and meadows, Olten invites you to stop for a pause along the River Aare.
Description
Starting point for this hike is Hägendorf, one of the industrial towns in the Gäu region. Here where the unbridled Cholersbach cut its way through the Jura rock, steep rocky faces, caves, caverns and most unusual rock formations are the result. The path winds its way along the wild stream passing almost surreal moss covered cliffs and the natural Spitzbrunnen fountain.
Continuing the decent, the path leads to the Gwidemhöchi and elevated Belchenflue. From here you have amazing views as far as the Alps, and the Schwarzwald woods Jura chain and Vogesen on the other side.
As you continue your downward path, on through woods and meadows, you then pass the General-Wille House on the way to Homberglücke, followed by the Rumpelhöchi and Rumpel. And before you know it, your Olten destination comes into view.
