Naturmuseum St. Gallen
Overview
Intro
A museum with plenty to interest visitors of all ages: St. Gallen Nature Museum presents fascinating discoveries in the world of local wildlife and minerals on 2,000m2 - now also with a digital museum guide.
The collection of the St. Gallen Nature Museum offers a wealth of scientifically and historically significant material. The centrepiece of the exhibition is Switzerland’s largest landscape relief of the cantons of St. Gallen and Appenzell, showcasing the diverse fauna between Lake Constance and Ringelspitz. The open presentation with 3D exhibits actively engages with visitors, encouraging them to acquire knowledge in a playful approach.
The most celebrated object on display is also an impressive sight: the fossilised skeleton of a duck-billed dinosaur. Other areas are dedicated to bears and their fellow animals, sparkling minerals and other natural resources, technical inventions that take inspiration from nature and energy sources.
In addition, there are special exhibitions on specific topics, thematic children’s tracks and the digital museum guide in three languages (D, E, F). This guides visitors through the exhibition with a knowledge tour and four game-style tours. The museum’s café has an outdoor terrace in the museum park and rounds off a varied experience for the whole family.
