Intro

The Three Parks Hike invites nature lovers to leave the everyday behind for a while on a six-day hike and enjoy the unspoilt, natural surroundings of three regional nature parks: Diemtigtal, Gantrisch and Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut.

The hike through the three regional nature parks offers a unique combination of sport, nature, culture and tradition. The landscapes encountered along the way are extremely varied, while the opportunity for relaxation on the individual stages is second to none. While the Diemtigtal Nature Park impresses with its undulating landscapes and cultural treasures, the Gantrisch Nature Park captures the hearts of all panorama lovers with its views of the nearby peaks. The Gruyère Pays-d’Enhaut Nature Park, meanwhile, offers fascinating historic villages and bridges. All this and more can be experienced along the 96-kilometre route, which is divided into six stages.

The Three Parks Hike starts in Zweisimmen. After a first ascent, hikers reach Lake Seebergsee and thus Nature Park Diemtigtal. Passing picturesque scenery hikers descend to Grimmialp. From there, the trail continues through the valley to Oey. Culture buffs should make a little detour into the village of Diemtigen to marvel at the artistry of the Simmental’s carpenters.

The third section of the trail is dominated by the impressive Gantrisch chain, winding below its summits and rewarding hikers with an inspiring panoramic landscape. After a well-earned rest stop on Gurnigel, the trail continues up a gentle incline to the glittering waters of Lake Schwarzsee. On the way to Jaun, hikers pass the historic ruins of the Château de Bellegarde and the Breccaschlund, a wild plain hollowed out by glaciers.

The final stage leads through a landscape carved out by water, where an encounter with the heritage of La Gruyère rounds off this natural and cultural hiking experience.
