Intro

Villars immediately stood out to us for its rare combination of charm, accessibility and functionality. The village centre offers a beautiful alpine atmosphere and a wide variety of hotels and accommodations, catering to different preferences while keeping guests close to one another.

The author introduces herself

Tabloo Margot is a Belgium-based high-end event agency, where destination weddings play a distinctive role in our portfolio. Our work is defined by refinement, precision and storytelling, with a strong focus on exceptional locations that elevate the overall experience. Mountain weddings, in particular, offer a unique balance between intimacy, exclusivity and natural grandeur.

A key advantage is the exceptional proximity of the ski area to Villars centre. This makes Villars not only ideal for the wedding itself, but also highly attractive for guests who wish to extend their stay, whether for a day or several days of skiing before or after the wedding weekend.

The direct connection between Villars centre and the ski area opens up unique possibilities for designing a complete wedding weekend. Skiing can be seamlessly integrated as part of the experience, rather than being a separate activity.

For the wedding we organised in March, the proximity of the venues allowed us to create a varied yet cohesive programme. On Friday evening, guests gathered in the centre of Villars for an intimate, traditional raclette dinner — a warm and convivial start to the weekend. On the wedding day itself, the ceremony, reception and evening celebrations took place at Golf de Villars, a mountain restaurant located directly on the ski piste and offering breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding Alps. The ceremony, dinner and dancing all took place in this elevated setting, creating a sense of exclusivity and connection to the landscape. The weekend concluded on Sunday with an après-ski gathering in the Bretaye 1808 ski area, where guests could ski and celebrate together once more in a relaxed and joyful setting.

From raclette nights to ceremonies on the slopes, Villars turns a wedding into a full alpine experience.

In winter, the ski area of Villars, including its mountain restaurants, is accessible exclusively by train. Both guests and suppliers travel upwards together, fully integrated into the daily rhythm of the resort. What might initially appear as a limitation quickly proves to be a strength. The train company was exceptionally flexible and supportive, especially when it came to special transport needs. For local teams, this way of operating is part of their winter routine, resulting in a smooth, reliable and highly coordinated workflow. This system not only ensures flawless logistics, but also adds a unique sense of anticipation and cohesion to the wedding experience.

A destination where logistics disappear and the experience takes centre stage.

Villars is a destination where elegance, accessibility and experience design come together effortlessly. Its charming village centre, immediate access to the ski area and highly professional local partners make it an exceptional choice for destination weddings. The ability to blend celebration, landscape and seasonal activities into one seamless wedding weekend is what truly sets Villars apart.
