Intro
After the 1973 crisis in the watchmaking industry, "La Tchaux", as the locals like to call their city, lost 6,000 of its 42,000 residents. Today, it has a population of 39,000.
For the past ten years or so, the city has become popular again for new residents, many of them young. Corinna Weiss is one of them. She has established the “Quartier Général” art centre. It opened in 2015 and is located on the city’s outskirts where the slaughterhouse used to be. With her contemporary programme and entertaining events, Corinna Weiss proves that the watchmaking city in the Jura has definitely reawakened.
