The most fun time of the year is back: Carnival, a tradition particularly dear to Ticino.

Masks, music, confetti, and traditions renewed every year: Carnival is one of the region's most vibrant and authentic celebrations.

The carnival of Ascona is celebrated on Mardi Gras along the beautiful lake promenade on Piazza G. Motta. At 12 p.m. a tasting risotto with luganighe (local sausages) will be served for everyone.

The Sgüra Carnival in Balerna returns to enliven the town with a rich program of events celebrating tradition, music, and fun for all ages.
