Descripción
The cross-country skiing trail starts below the Axalp-Stübli car park at Axalp above Lake Brienz, a clearing that was used by centuries of Brienz farmers as a summer cattle grazing ground. Nowadays, Axalp is home to a compact, family-friendly winter sports area.
The route leads away from the ski slope at the bottom station of the Windegg chairlift, along the winter hiking trail through the idyllic, snow-covered Alpine scenery to Fahrnigenboden, where the trail winds its way through the terrain, providing a varied experience. Turning back, the trail follows the same route back in the direction of the chairlift station. En route, you can soak up sweeping views of the mountains to the north of Lake Brienz.
